  Large park with lots to do for families with kids or cherry blossom viewers. It can be roughly divided into five sections: cherry trees, fountains and water play, play equipment for little kids, play equipment for big kids, and the museums. The cherry trees are fantastic in season and the park has a tradition of dress up for hanami. The hilly nature of the area makes it feel somewhat secluded. I haven't used the water play area, which is also seasonal, but it looks like fun. The little kids area has some small play equipment and a grassy area. I haven't spent any time in the local history museum or the Japanese paper museum except to use the bathroom of the former. You can visit the upstairs of the history museum for free if you need to get inside for a bit. A small cafe sells cakes and coffee on the second floor. There are less clean bathrooms in the other parts of the park as well. The big kids play area is well arrayed with two retired trains, some abstractedly shaped climbing objects, not to mention the standard swings, slides, and large sandbox, but the star is the huge concrete castle in the center that features many very fast slides. Be careful about these slides if your kids are small! Picnic tables overlook the JR and shinkansen lines and a small snack bar sells dango, packaged ice cream, and drinks in the warm weather. Add in the Sakura tram (formerly known as the Toden) from nearby Asukayama station and you've got the makings of a good day out.

  It's a very nice place to view Sakura. Not as crowded as Ueno park.

  This park is ideal to spend anytime,anyseason in.Momiji,Hanami, ajisai viewing.. It is one of oldest in Tokyo and very popular for japanese citizens but not so much tourists there. It is very close to Oji station.You can use South exit to reach park quickly. There is also a free rail that runs between the park and Oji Station, which makes reach it easy for anyone. There is big space with play areas and many figures for children. There are small cafe and museum too.

  If you have kids, that's the place to go. Not fare. Simple. From 3 to 7 years old, you just let them play. Paradis for Parents. yeahh. My young one is getting, older and older everyday. You can not only look at the past, but believe me I had good time there. If parenting in Tokyo, and living near. a place to bookmark.

  Interesting playground. Lots of open space under the Cherry Blossoms for picnic. A good idea to take a mat though as it’s a bit dusty but the children won’t mind for sure.
