::During my travels to Japan, I found the ART Hotel in Aomori, Hirosaki City, to be the perfect base for visiting and meeting people from all over the world. The hotel was well-apportioned, impeccably clean, and fresh. The buffets were FANTASTIC. Swimming and Exercise adjacent to the hotel available for a fee. All together wonderful experience at ART Hotel.

::Big hotel right next to Hirosaki station. The location is ideal for visiting the city. Various buses run from the station to the city center, for example to the castle. My room was comparatively small, but was well equipped. I had a nice view of the city from the 9th floor. I would particularly like to highlight the breakfast. There was a large selection. Fresh egg dishes are also prepared on request. The Wi-Fi in the hotel was sufficiently fast (25 Mbps). The team was very friendly and courteous.

::The room are slightly dated although the bathroom seems like it was given a renovation recently. The staff were very nice and friendly. Do take note that for parking, the parking lifts are no longer in use. They will recommend you to park in outdoor parking owned by them. They will provide a map guide to you on that as well.

::We stayed 1 night during the sakura festival. For the price paid (>¥40,000), the room was not very cost effective. This was because of the small room size (standard Japanese station hotel) and lack of ventilation (no separate control of toilet ventilation when hotel was in heating mode). Hotel advised us to open window to ventilate the room. Nevertheless, cleanliness of sheets, towels and bathroom was acceptable despite the visibly old furnishings. Staff was also patient to help us make dinner reservations! Best thing about the hotel is the location, which is right next to train station and bus terminal. However, it is not near to the main attraction in town (Hirosaki Park), so be careful to check last bus timings if you are attending the night festival. Our stay was affected by some inconveniences, that could be due to our bad luck during peak travel season - we were unable to try the famous apple pie at the hotel lounge or buy water from the 7-11 downstairs (the hotel did not provide mineral water).

::Rooms are old, smell of old carpet and smoke smell in non smoking room. Toilet has old ‘sour’ musky smell. No ac function during winter and I slept thru the night with windows on. Location is perfect as there’s convenience store by the lobby and about 2 mins walk to train station.
