::Less crowded then the animate stores. Not the anime I was looking for though
Chaz Pup
::Im not ashamed to admit to going here. What i can say is the print products are top quality, often times having things everyone else is out of. Friendly staff amd a huge selection.

::Tons of manga and anime goods including a good selection of popular doujinshi. Atmosphere was pleasant. Has a working elevator, but at peak times it can be quicker to use the stairs.

::Great shop for anime aimed towards girls. Top floor is doujinshi, and I noticed they were playing 18+ drama CDs so don't bring your kids up there if possible...though regardless your kids shouldnt be up there... Also has a 2.5D anime musical/stage play floor which is a great introduction to a genre most foreigners are unfamiliar with. Unlike Animate Akiba, you pay on the ground floor.

::If your taste in anime tends more towards boy band idols, sports anime and shoujo-romance, this is about the only store in Akihabara that will cater to your taste (might find figures of sports anime characters elsewhere for a good price though). In which case you should probably head to Ikebukuro instead, which is like the female anime equivalent of Akihabara. The head Animate store is also there with a much bigger selection. Still, if someone you're travelling with prefers shounen/seinen type anime, this store still serves as a breath of fresh air lol. The cash registers might take awhile to get through especially on weekends. If you're a guy you might find yourself as the only male customer in the entire building haha.
