::Since I came to Hiroshima, I went to Andersen for bread and coffee. Hans Christian Andersen, who is seen everywhere, was born here in Hiroshima. I heard that Andersen, who was in front of the Ueno central ticket gate, was the top student.

::We came here for breakfast one morning but were faced with quite a disappointing choice. The cafe is just next to the bakery shop yet the menu is extremely limited compared to what they sell in the shop. The prices are extremely high, I chose a 'selection' of patisseries from the menu worth almost 5 euros. The lady came over with a platter of various patisseries from which I could choose only one... so basically you pay for having a seat and table! The drinks were almost 5 euros each too for a glass of iced cafe au lait which was bitter and a glass of iced tea au lait which tasted like water, nothing fancy. Not recommended at all.
